Job summary

Bosch Building Technologies North America is seeking a Site Superintendent – Security to oversee multiple system delivery on large projects in Halifax. You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and safety to ensure on-time completion and client satisfaction.

This role requires leadership, strong communication, and extensive experience with low-voltage security installations, CCTV, access control, and AV systems. You will coordinate with subcontractors and project teams on site.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in project management, with security or low-voltage background.
  • Experience coordinating or managing projects is required.
  • Progressive leadership in construction projects worth $2M+.
  • Experience managing low voltage, security, or structured cabling projects preferred.
  • Strong safety culture implementation experience.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant standards.
  • Experience collecting and managing technical documentation.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, architecture, construction management, or technology is a plus.
  • Trades qualifications in electrical/low voltage/controls are preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, Sedona, and project software.
  • Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and complete low voltage systems for new construction, including CCTV, access control, AV, and cabling.
  • Visit client sites to assess conditions and requirements for design and installation.
  • Provide leadership and support for assigned projects and oversee personnel and operations.
  • Coordinate and direct workers and subcontractors.
  • Provide progress and financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage schedules, resources, procurement, and risk mitigation with the PM team.
  • Attend site visits and client walk-throughs.
  • Prepare and communicate detailed documentation (shop drawings, testing, schedule, budget).
  • Requisition materials, pricing, RFIs, and build local supplier pools.
  • Maintain written/verbal communications with all stakeholders.
  • Negotiate terms, draft contracts, obtain permits and licenses.
  • Direct and support project team members.
  • Assess risks and ensure safety regulations are followed; participate in safety committees.
  • Maintain client satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Job description

Site Superintendent – Security. Superintendent will oversee the progress of multiple system delivery for large projects in a timely and cost-effective way. We are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced, reliable leader to handle the budget, organization, implementation, and scheduling of a major project.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and complete low voltage systems for new construction, including security systems (CCTV, access control), Audio Visual, and structured cabling
  • Visit client sites to determine conditions and requirements for system design and installation
  • Provides overall leadership and support for assigned projects, overseeing project personnel and operations.
  • Coordinate and direct workers and subcontractors
  • Provide detailed and accurate reports of project's progress and financials to key stakeholders
  • Work with the Project Management team to develop and manage schedules, resources plan, procurement, project commissioning and risk mitigation strategies, while controlling costs and maximizing productivity through the implementation of best practices and standard processes
  • Attend site visits and client walk-throughs
  • Complete and communicate accurate and detailed documentation, including shop drawings, testing, schedule, and budget
  • Requisition of materials, supplies, pricing, RFIs, and foster strong business relationships to build a pool of local resources
  • Effectively manage and maintain all written and verbal project communications
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
  • Provide direction, leadership, and support to all project team members
  • Proactively assess risks and develop plans to align with safety regulations; ensure a safe and healthy work environment, and participate in safety committee meetings
  • Maintain client satisfaction and promptly resolve any concerns
  • Develop and implement quality control programs
  • Perform other tasks as required

Required Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in project management. Either security based experience or other low voltage industries.
  • Previous project coordination/management experience is required
  • Progressive leadership experience in a construction environment with experience managing projects worth $2 million or more.
  • Experience managing low voltage, security or structured cabling projects is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Previous experience collecting and managing technical documentation
  • Post secondary education in engineering, architecture, construction management, or technology would be considered an asset
  • Trades Qualified (electrical, low voltage, controls, HVAC) preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills
  • Competent in conflict and crisis managementStrong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sedona, and project software
  • Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and work with multiple deadlines
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or PMI certified
  • 2 or more years of security industry experience is strongly desired
  • 5 years of functional project management experience in a technical environment
Salary Range

$41.00ph - $71.75ph (DOE)

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet)
Working Conditions
  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without Paladin colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction.
  • Driving to customer sites is required
  • Limited overnight travel may be required
