Job summary

Harbinger Network Inc. seeks a Site Superintendent for a downtown Toronto interior renovation project. You will lead on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors and trades, and ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence in an occupied institutional setting.

The ideal candidate has progressive site supervision experience on interior renovations or fit-outs, with ability to read drawings and schedules. Red Seal or Gold Seal is preferred.

Qualifications

• Progressive site supervision experience on interior renovation or fit-out projects.
• Institutional-type project experience (university, college, school, healthcare, long-term care, or medical facility renovations).
• Experience coordinating structural and mechanical scope within an occupied renovation environment.
• Expertise in field coordination, safety compliance, scheduling, and multi-trade site management.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, committed to site-level quality and teamwork.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting drawings, specs, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, trades, and site personnel to ensure safety, quality, and timely results.
• Manage sequencing and logistics of interior renovation work in an active, occupied environment, minimizing disruption to operations.
• Champ or enforce safety protocols and foster a safety-first culture on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers, consultants, trades, and client representatives for alignment and problem-solving.
• Coordinate structural and mechanical scope elements with trades and consultants.
• Maintain up-to-date site records, daily logs, and progress reports for stakeholders.
• Manage material procurement, equipment delivery, and site cleanliness through all build phases.
• Lead and mentor site teams to build a collaborative atmosphere focused on project goals and client satisfaction.

Their portfolio spans universities, colleges, and school boards; healthcare facilities including hospitals, long-term care homes, labs, and medical/clinical spaces; as well as commercial projects such as new car dealerships and more.

Role Overview

Our client has recently been awarded a new interior renovation project in downtown Toronto and is looking to add a Site Superintendent to their team on an immediate basis. Subcontract has been awarded and shop drawings are in progress, with site mobilization required in the coming weeks.

This is an interior renovation involving both structural and mechanical scope elements. The ideal candidate brings experience on institutional-type projects — university, college, school, healthcare, long-term care, or other medical/clinical facilities are all strongly considered.

Required Qualifications

• Progressive site supervision experience on interior renovation and/or fit-out projects in the $5M–$20M range.
• Institutional-type project experience is ideal — university, college, school, healthcare, long-term care, or other medical/clinical facility renovations.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating both structural and mechanical scope within an occupied renovation environment.
• Expertise in field coordination, safety compliance, scheduling, and multi-trade site management.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, committed to site-level quality and teamwork.
• Proficiency with construction management software; ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Red Seal, Gold Seal, or equivalent trade certifications and qualifications preferred.
