Looking for a Commercial Site Superintendent!
Our client is a large General Contractor who has been active in the construction industry for 60+ years.They work on storageand industrial, retirement, mid rise residential, office/ mixed use andcommercial including big box and dealerships. They are family owned and operated and theyoffer their staff great company culture and long term opportunities. They paywell and many of their employees have been with them for 10+ years.
They are looking for a Site Super that has at least 6 years experience on large ground up commercial projects, ideally exposure on projects $20M+.
SiteSupervisor Job Duties:
- Accomplishes construction human resource objectives by selecting,orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, anddisciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning,monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensationactions; adhering to policies and procedures.
- Manages sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, and selectingsub-contractors; monitoring and controlling performance.
- Meets operational standards by contributing constructioninformation to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production,productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems;identifying construction management system improvements.
- Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures;identifying variances; implementing corrective actions; providingnon-project annual operating and capital budget information.
- Accomplishes construction project results by defining projectpurpose and scope; calculating resources required; establishing standardsand protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff andsub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions;resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.
- Approves construction projects by conducting inspections atcritical phases; obtaining approvals from buyers.
- Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing,codes.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by followingand enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emergingconstruction practices and standards; participating in educationalopportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personalnetworks; participating in professional organizations.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership foraccomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to addvalue to job accomplishments.
