Job summary

Drake International Inc. in Winnipeg is seeking a seasoned Site Superintendent to lead multiple commercial projects from pre-construction through closeout. This senior role focuses on delivering on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

The successful candidate will mentor junior site staff, coordinate with Project Managers, and establish best practices across the organization within a growing, entrepreneurial contractor.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of superintendent experience with a general contractor delivering commercial projects.
• Experience managing complex projects valued at $10M+ with site execution, scheduling, safety, and quality.
• Proven track record leading site teams, including lead hands, laborers and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, scheduling, site logistics, and project planning.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior Site Superintendent, providing leadership across multiple projects and site teams.
• Partner with Project Managers from pre-construction through closeout to support planning and delivery.
• Mentor and develop Site Superintendents, establishing best practices and consistent field operations.
• Lead day‑to‑day site activities, including subcontractor coordination, site logistics, quality control, and safety.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor schedules and mitigate risks to keep projects on track.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners while promoting accountability.

The company is seeking a seasoned construction leader to serve as its most senior Site Superintendent, providing leadership across multiple projects while working closely with Project Managers from pre-construction through project closeout.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role goes beyond traditional site supervision. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, execution, and delivery, while mentoring and developing junior Site Superintendents and helping establish best practices across the organization.

What You"ll Do

• Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor schedules, identify risks, and implement solutions that keep projects on track.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of Superintendent experience with a General Contractor delivering commercial projects.
• Proven experience managing complex projects valued at $10M+ with responsibility for site execution, scheduling, safety, and quality.
• Demonstrated success leading site teams, including lead hands, laborers and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, scheduling, site logistics, and project planning.
• Experience using scheduling software and coordinating detailed construction schedules throughout all project phases.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative, client‑focused approach.
• Journeyperson certification, Construction Management education, Engineering background, or equivalent industry experience is considered an asset.
