Job description

As our newest Site Superintendent, you'll ensure that each of your projects is executed with precision and excellence. Reporting to the General Superintendent, you’ll be the one coordinating trades and materials, driving the schedule, completing site documentation, and communicating effectively with Project Managers/Coordinators, Consultants, Subtrades and Owners.

You’ll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our teams typically work 21/7 rotations, travel in and out of various locations, work 10-hour shifts on average, and enjoy the comforts of home in well-maintained crew houses.

Your day-to-day includes walking the site, inspecting the progress, checking for any quality or safety issues, and making sure everything is running according to the schedule. You’ll hold a meeting with your team and trade partners to ensure alignment on goals for the day and follow up on any potential issues from the previous day. You’ll close out your day by reviewing the schedule, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed, and making sure any necessary inspections or safety concerns are addressed.

Is this the right role for you? Here’s how you’ll know you’ve been successful in the first 6 months:

  1. Effective Site Management: You’re the point person on site ensuring that every project is built to specifications, staying on budget while maintaining high quality standards.
  2. Safety as Priority: You’ve set the standard for safety on site. You ensure all measures meet or exceed regulatory requirements and safety is top of mind for everyone on your team.
  3. Testing & Inspections: You successfully manage inspection requirements for your project and stay on top of inspection schedules with regulatory bodies and project consultants.
  4. Team Leadership: You drive the site team to work cohesively, aligning efforts toward productivity milestones and maintaining motivation throughout the project’s lifecycle.
  5. Proactive Problem Solving: When issues arise, you’re known for responding with quick thinking, aligning the team on a solution that works for everyone.

A little about Wildstone. We’re a family-owned and operated General Contractor, we take on projects in some of the most remote, challenging and exciting locations in western and northern Canada, and our goal is to always make a positive impact through community involvement where we work.

We take care of our teams with benefits that include health/dental/vision, RRSP matching, Employee and Family Assistance Programs, and an Employee Recognition and Rewards Program.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Professional Experience: You bring 10+ years of construction experience to the table with at least three of those years in a supervisory role.
  2. Education/Qualifications: You hold a Journeyperson certificate or equivalent industry related experience and/or education.
  3. Communication: Whether it's interacting with stakeholders or clarifying project details with the team, you communicate with confidence and clarity.
  4. Technology: You’re proficient with MS Office 365 and are familiar with Procore and Outbuild scheduling software, and you've used Salus or a similar safety platform.
  5. Certifications: You already hold or are willing to obtain Leadership for Safety Excellence, Workplace Investigation Basics, Fall protection, WHMIS 2015, Elevated Work Platform, and Level 1 First Aid.

Ready to take your expertise to the next level and make an impact on our projects? We want to hear from you!
