Traine Construction and Development (Traine) is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Superintendent to join our organization! As a key team member, you will supervise all construction activities on-site, ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This position manages on-site personnel and enforces safety and work regulation policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead all on-site activities; ensure project construction is safe, timely, and efficient.
- Manage site information flow: RFIs, ASIs, SSIs, ESIs, MSIs, etc.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to meet project specifications.
- Assist in creating and maintaining the project schedule.
- Build strong relationships with City Officials.
- Chair weekly trade meetings and assist with site meetings with the development team.
- Create lookahead schedules and monitor trades for productivity.
- Review blueprints and construction documents to identify conflicts early.
- Coordinate trade partners, suppliers, and vendors.
- Ensure work is built according to drawings, specifications, and standards through regular site walkthroughs.
- Manage and mentor field staff, providing necessary tools and instructions.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient job site, enforcing safety policies.
- Handle field documentation: logs, photos, safety inspections, reports.
- Order materials and schedule inspections, coordinating utilities as needed.
- Address project challenges proactively with creative solutions.
- Oversee projects from excavation to handover.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in wood frame multi-family projects (4-6 stories, concrete parkade), with at least 2 projects from start to finish.
- Gold Seal Certification is a strong asset or in progress.
- Red Seal Ticket in Carpentry and First Aid are assets.
- Valid Driver’s License without restrictions.
- Experience with phased occupancy multi-building projects.
- Leadership skills to evaluate trade partner performance.
- Ability to read plans and technical documents.
- Strong management, delegation, and planning skills.
- Attention to safety and detail.
- Proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and Procore.
- Knowledge of construction disciplines, safety, scheduling, cost and quality control.
- Professional demeanor with stakeholders and team members.
- Successful background check required.
Working Conditions
- Availability 24/7 may be required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
- Travel to various sites will be necessary.
- Overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
