Brock Canada Field Services Ltd is looking for a Site Superintendent in the Red Deer, Alberta region. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and supports the business by coordinating all site construction activities and supervising field personnel to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget. The role ensures all projects are delivered safely, effectively, and profitably, while maintaining compliance. It also involves building the Brock brand through providing world-class service to all stakeholders.
Responsibilities include:
- Promoting and demonstrating Brock’s culture in all aspects of the business.
- Managing site safety, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Planning and scheduling resources, monitoring progress, and taking corrective actions.
- Assisting the Project Manager in developing and implementing project plans, quality control, and safety plans.
- Executing detailed project plans including timelines, logistics, purchasing, and training.
- Building strong cross-functional partnerships within the organization.
- Understanding contracts and initiating change orders successfully.
- Managing project scope changes through the change management process.
- Resolving customer issues and discrepancies effectively.
- Ensuring all safety and authorization requirements are met before work begins.
- Assisting in quoting and conducting preliminary job walks.
- Leveraging opportunities to cross-sell Brock’s products and services.
- Maintaining communication with Project Management and Business Development to meet customer needs.
- Identifying operational needs including labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Coordinating with Asset Management and customers on planning and resource demands.
- Transitioning jobs from sales to operations using Brock’s processes.
- Managing job costs and profitability, tracking KPIs, and working with project controls for corrective actions.
- Auditing operations for efficiency improvements and margin enhancement.
- Managing outsourced services and vendor relationships.
- Supervising site personnel to meet scope, efficiency, and productivity goals.
- Conducting performance evaluations and mentoring staff.
- Identifying training needs and ensuring personnel are trained accordingly.
- Recruiting and hiring skilled craft personnel within budget.
- Ensuring compliance with personnel policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with HR to resolve employee issues fairly.
- Staying updated on industry trends and participating in continuing education.
- Attending site meetings proactively and engaging in relevant discussions.
- Meeting or exceeding incident reporting policies and safety policies, recommending policy enhancements as needed.
