Our Site Supervisor is responsible for leading the security team and ensuring that our services delivered on site are of the highest quality. This retail/commercial site is in Vancouver, near the Downtown Eastside, which presents our team with a unique, fast-paced, and challenging environment. It also provides endless opportunities to make a difference in the community and to work alongside first responders on a frequent basis. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the security industry, experience in a leadership role, an engaging mentorship style, and CARE for our industry.
Responsibilities:
Provide mentorship and coaching to Paladin team, maintaining and increasing staff motivation and morale
Work closely with the Shift Supervisors and Portfolio Resource Coordinator to oversee staffing levels and maintain the site schedule
Conduct site level interviews for prospective staff before initiating training to meet the highest standards for deployment
Oversee that all Officer training requirements are completed
Continually evaluate the site procedures and policies, and forward any recommendations to the Client Service Manager (CSM)
Serve as the first point of contact for security escalations during regular business hours and after-hours
Read, review, and investigate reports of incidents documented by the security staff and ensure the appropriate departments are notified
Develop, administer, and oversee training for new site employees and refresher training for site employees
Perform regular reviews of employee performance and site knowledge
Maintain and audit first aid equipment and send status reports to CSM
Conduct and oversee investigations into issues or incidents on site and provide complete and comprehensive reports
Serve as a link between tenants, members of the public, Paladin Security management, and the client
Perform other duties to meet operational needs
Requirements:
Minimum of two years of work experience in the security industry
Minimum of one year of supervisory/managerial work experience
Must be willing and able to attend frequent medical emergencies and first aid calls, including administering Naloxone injections
Valid BC Security License
Valid AST would be an asset; must be comfortable with physical interventions
Experience with administrative tasks, specifically OH&S, would be an asset
Knowledge of access control, fire control, CCTV, and other site-related systems; Control Officer experience is an asset
Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Ability to understand complex scenarios, including emergency situations, and to come up with plans and procedures to effectively counter them
Confidence in dealing with people management issues, working with HR, and in effectively handling interpersonal issues
This is a Full-Time position
Relocation is not provided and travel is not required
