Job summary

A real estate services company in Abbotsford is seeking a Site Safety Representative to ensure work is done safely and efficiently. This role requires at least 2 years of experience in a preventative safety role within the construction industry, along with necessary safety certifications. Responsibilities include conducting safety meetings and site inspections, administering first aid, and coordinating safety efforts with subcontractors. Who You Are

You have a strong drive towards ensuring work is done safely and efficiently. You are a critical thinker with an eye for details. You are a leader with excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. You are also competent with technology and have strong documentation and organization skills.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a preventative safety role in the construction industry.
• CSO or NCSO certification, or currently working towards
• Advanced First Aid Certification
• Experience in mid-rise apartments is considered an asset.

Duties

Some of the things you can expect as the Site Safety Representative include:

• Conducting site orientations and safety meetings
• Performing project site inspections of work area, tools, equipment, etc.
• Leading and coordinating safety with subcontractors
• Administering first aid and emergency procedures
• Participating on the company JOHS committee
• Working with the project team and contractors to pre-plan critical path tasks to mitigate safety concerns
• And completing a variety of other safety-related tasks and documentation requirements.

This role reports to the project Site Supervisor and works in coordination with the company Safety Manager.
