Job description

Safety. First. Always. It's your top priority. It's ours, too. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Site Safety Manager for multi-family construction projects in the Sea-to-Sky corridor. This role will be site-based, and you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of our Safety Program. As a COR Certified Company, our strong commitment to the health and safety of all who work on our projects is paramount.

Responsibilities
  1. Conduct meetings and speak to large groups.
  2. Maintain deep knowledge of local Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
  3. Meet project deadlines.
  4. Build positive working relationships with trade partners and site teams.
  5. Provide options for safety compliance.
  6. Attend trade safety start-up meetings.
  7. Monitor and enforce safety compliance and regulations.
  8. Provide on-site safety guidance to trade partners.
  9. Act as a liaison between Site Safety Advisors, Superintendents, and Project Managers.
  10. Provide regular reports, including project statistics, to the Safety Manager.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the British Columbia construction industry.
  • Strong organization and people skills.
  • Knowledge of cranes, wood frame construction processes, electrical safety, tools, and machinery.
  • Outstanding computer skills, including experience with Electronic Safety Systems like SiteDocs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to train and guide site crews regarding safety.
  • Understanding of current regulations, bylaws, and utility protection.
  • Regulatory knowledge to advise the site superintendent.
Education and Certifications
  • Current CSO Certification (from BCIT or other reputable establishment).
  • WHMIS Certification.
  • NCSO Certification (preferred or in progress).
  • Confined Space, Fall Protection, De-Escalation training (preferred).
  • COR Internal Auditor training (preferred).

Salary Range
  • $90,000 - $120,000, dependent on experience.
