Site Reliability Specialist II

Location: Burlington or Vaughan, Ontario Canada (Hybrid/Office/Remote), Montreal, Quebec (Hybrid/Office/Remote)

A new position has opened for a Site Reliability Specialist II to work within our ProjectWise product area. ProjectWise is an industry-leading software facilitating Infrastructure Project Delivery in sectors such as energy, utilities, airports, roads, railways, tunnels, bridges, etc. ProjectWise addresses the need for engineers to safely store and efficiently collaborate on their Digital Twin representing infrastructure projects.

We are looking for a Site Reliability Specialist to take on the responsibility of automating cloud-based services infrastructure and tooling, with a specific focus on DevOps automation principles. This role encompasses architecture, development, service provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring of infrastructure and tooling automation. Additionally, the position may require occasional after-hours work to promptly address urgent issues and uphold uninterrupted business operations for our users.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage, implement, and improve automation (CI/CD Infrastructure) and tooling through Azure DevOps, scripting, developing tools, and proprietary systems.
  2. Automate Azure cloud-based deployments, resource provisioning, and other Azure infrastructure-related tasks.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.
  4. Dive deep into availability, performance, and outages for infrastructure and systems, providing technical leadership for proactive resolutions.
  5. Ensure compliance with industry best practices and organizational policies.
  6. Continuously improve processes and tools to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  7. Maintain monitoring and alerting systems and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  8. Share on-call responsibilities, collaborating with other specialists to triage and fix issues in production.

What You Bring to The Team:

  1. Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant training and/or experience.
  2. +3 years of experience with Cloud Services development, deployment, and/or IT Cloud infrastructure setup and maintenance (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  3. Scripting and automation skills using languages like PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, JavaScript, or similar.
  4. Programming experience, preferably in high-level languages like C#, Python, Golang, Ruby, or equivalent.
  5. Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, IIS, and networking.
  6. Experience with Azure DevOps (Pipelines, YAML) or GitHub Enterprise (Git, Actions).
  7. Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server/Azure SQL setup, SQL statements/scripts, and troubleshooting.
  8. Ability to document architectural designs and operational processes to support ongoing cloud system administration.
  9. Willingness to learn and become an expert in a wide array of cloud-based technologies in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Ability to work effectively in a global team and across organizations.
