About the role
You will be working with a team of highly skilled professionals that has a high drive and strives for better and faster, which we also expect from you. We launched and rebranded Sermo’s physician community platform, and you will be assisting in maintaining the existing functionality as well as developing new features. We have a lot of internal and external applications that are to be rewritten to take full utilization of our new platform. Ultimately, you should be able to assist and collaborate in creating a functional and attractive digital environment for our company, ensuring great user experience, as there are many new planned features waiting to be developed.
Primary responsibilities:
- Monitor existing applications by building dashboards and reports that will facilitate the process
- Maintain existing alarms, and create new ones as needed, to monitor the health of our applications, mainly on AWS, such as infrastructure, applications, and databases
- Integration with third party systems to enhance monitoring and reporting
- Own the OPSgenie rotation schedule(s)
- Participate in OPSgenie rotation for mission critical system
- Collaborate with IT and our (security) network specialists to achieve cohesive monitoring across the organization
- Collaborate with Development Engineers to facilitate the implementation of extensive application service monitoring across all product offerings and ci/cd pipelines.
- Participate in daily stand-ups with the rest of the Engineering team
Minimum requirements:
- English is very important, both written and verbal, as we operate globally
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role
- Min. 3+ years of experience with hosting on AWS infrastructure
- Extensive experience with Datadog including; APM, Logging, RUM, Database Monitoring, and Watchdog.
- Experience with Docker infrastructure, mainly hosted through AWS
- Extensive experience with deployment pipelines, especially around spinning up short-lived environments to support branching strategy
- Be a self-starter and -motivator who is excited to relentlessly solve many technical challenges
- Ability to manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team
Bonus requirements:
- Experience (extensive) with the following (prioritized order): Docker, Grafana, Seq, Asp.Net Core, PostgreSQL, RedShift, Office 365, Etlworks, Metabase, Power BI, Solr, SIEM Systems like Microsoft sentinel, AWS Guard duty.
