The Role

Position: Site Operations Coordinator to support the Real Property Management Branch in Saguenay. The Site Operations Coordinator shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

Within the Real Property Planning and Management (RPPM) Branch Operations and Maintenance unit, the Site Operations Coordinator is responsible for planning, contracting and coordinating the delivery of building services and general maintenance requirements within the building. The Site Operations Coordinator evaluates the performance of various building equipment and systems, troubleshoots problems and malfunctions, and proposes technical solutions.

The Site Operations Coordinator also coordinates security, environmental, safety and health requirements within the buildings in support of programs and business operations. The role reports to a Site Operations Manager. It does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but oversees services provided by third-party service providers.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following criteria to be considered:

Education
  • Diploma or certificate in a related technological or technical field (such as architectural, electrical or mechanical).
  • A combination of a trade certification (Electrician, HVAC, Millwright, and Plumber) with relevant experience may be considered.

Experience
  • Significant experience in the coordination of activities related to building service delivery, maintenance, infrastructure support, property management.
  • Significant experience in coordinating the on-site activities of contractors on multi-trade projects.
  • Experience reviewing plans, drawings, preparing preliminary sketches and estimates for renovations or modifications.
  • Significant experience with the application of the related federal and provincial building codes, standards, acts, legislation and regulations.
  • Significant experience in the coordination of construction projects (under 100k).
  • Significant experience is defined as two (2) to six (6) years of experience.

The following listed experience would be considered an asset:

  • Experience supporting specialized research facilities and laboratories.
  • Experience working with computer programs such as AutoCAD, SAP Plant Maintenance and material management systems.
  • Experience coordinating construction contracts in the Federal Government environment.

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

Technical Competencies
  • Solid ability to create and maintain a safe and healthy environment based on knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety regulations and legislation as related to construction safety standards and practices.
  • Solid knowledge of multi-trade practices, building codes and procedures, equipment maintenance, trades and technical issues (electrical, architectural, mechanical and telecommunications).
  • Solid ability to coordinate the work of construction contractors for building additions, renovations, equipment installation and commissioning.
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles.
  • Solid knowledge of construction practices and techniques and design and construction details, particularly of the mechanical or electrical trades.
  • Ability to interpret drawings/plans as well as prepare preliminary sketches and estimates for renovations or modifications.

Compensation

From $66,126 to $91,012 per annum.
