We are looking for:

  • The Site Manager will lead the team located at the Niagara Falls (Welland) Industrial Site. Part of the GBU Technology Solutions, this plant produces Phosphine and Phosphorus Derivative products which are sold to a global customer base in a broad range of applications.

We count on you for:

  • Lead the Niagara Falls, Canada (Welland site) in safely accomplishing its mission and achieving targets for its identified Key Performance Indicators.
  • Lead and oversee key improvement initiatives, site reliability program, failure analyses, the development and empowerment of site operations leadership and technical talent, and assessment of the organizational health of the site.
  • Evaluate facility and individual performance to ensure deliverables are met while establishing accountability within the site organization.
  • Support the site Health, Safety & Environment, Maintenance, and Operations groups in their interactions with Government Authorities.
  • Support business planning capacity analysis, including inputs for the mid-term strategic plan and annual budgeting process.
  • Assist in identifying and developing the necessary action plans to satisfy business forecasts.
  • Interact with an on-site Research and Innovation team for the introduction and scale-up of new products at the facility.
  • Follow the key principles of Process Safety Management including Management of Change procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Syensqo procedures for Capital Investment Projects.
  • Named director of Cytec Canada Inc legal entity.

You will bring:

  • 20 years of experience in a complex chemical environment, with 10+ years’ in a leadership role.
  • Experience (e.g. Plant Manager or Site Director) for a Chemical Manufacturing operation of medium to high complexity and hazard level with a demonstrated high level of safety and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated actions that led to World Class Health, Safety and Environment performance in units under their direction.
  • Experience in manufacturing units that practiced phosphorus reaction chemistry and related hazardous materials processing. Alternatively, direct experience in Chlor alkali, Ammonia or other industries involving the synthesis and handling of liquified compressed gas products.
  • Led the development of Site Annual Key Objectives and prepared or refreshed a longer term (3 - 5 year) site Roadmap for improvements.
  • Experience in the necessary preparations for and completing one or more Collective Bargaining Agreements. Comfortable in professionally dealing with a site grievance process as outlined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Has established or participated in a functional Community Advisory Panel or has on-going relationships with local community stakeholders.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario or equivalent credentials transferable to Ontario.
  • Hands-on and inspirational leader able to create strong followership and build a culture of accountability.
  • Advanced relationship-building skills, both cross-functionally and with key stakeholders.
  • Advance union relations skills - advance relationships while driving accountability.

  • On-site position in Welland (Niagara Falls area), Ontario - Canada.
