Job Description

This is a hands-on position where the ideal candidate will manage a Meals on Wheels site located in Newmarket, NH at the Sunrise-Sunset Activity Center. You will be responsible for overseeing four home delivery routes in Newmarket and Newfields. This position is Monday - Friday with hours approximately from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

Overview

Your day will start with the delivery of food from our caterer. Everything is already cooked and prepared when it arrives at the site; you and your team just need to package everything and prepare for delivery. Then, the meal delivery drivers pack their bags and head out to deliver meals. Your assistant and volunteers will clean up and prepare for the next day. You may also serve lunch to some seniors attending activities at the center. As manager, you will ensure sanitation and food safety practices are followed, along with all other Meals on Wheels policies.

You will have a weekly food order to complete, contact clients, fill out client intakes and other paperwork to submit to the office. Attend monthly meetings, perform home visits to assess clients' needs, enter client data into the system, and set up meal schedules. Additionally, you will make weekly deposits, submit bi-weekly payroll, and run reports. You will also need to ensure delivery routes are efficient and staff follow proper procedures, keeping staff informed of daily changes and following up on emails and referrals promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation procedures (ServSafe) is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs is required.
• Good managerial skills are essential.
• Experience working with seniors, or in social services or non-profits, is desirable but not required.
• Driving and criminal background checks will be performed.
• You must be 21 or older and have a reliable vehicle.

Benefits

Hourly wage of $18.90, health plan, mileage reimbursement, 11 paid holidays, accrued paid time off (vacation/sick days), and annual longevity bonuses. Optional employee-paid insurance benefits include vision, dental, accident, and life insurance.
