Job summary

Skeena Gold + Silver Limited seeks a Site Maintenance Supervisor for the Eskay Creek Mine site in northwest British Columbia. You will lead field trades, plan maintenance, and ensure safety and reliability of critical site infrastructure.

The position requires strong leadership, maintenance planning expertise, and a commitment to safety. This site-based camp role operates on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation, with flights arranged from regional centers.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant trade certification, diploma or higher in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required.
• Prior mining/remote site experience is preferred.

Job Title: Site Maintenance Supervisor

Reporting directly tothe Site Maintenance Manager, the Site Maintenance Supervisoris responsible for the execution of all site infrastructure maintenance activities, ensuring work is planned, scheduled, and completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

This role provides direct front-line leadership to trades, lead hands, labor crews, and contractors across site services functions including facilities, utilities, water systems, fuel systems, waste management, power generation, and mobile infrastructure support.The Supervisor ensures that preventive maintenance, corrective work, and operational support activities are executed effectively to maintain safe and reliable site infrastructure. The role bridges planning and execution by working closely with the Superintendent/Manager to deliver on maintenance priorities while driving accountability in the field.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Work Execution & Field Leadership

• Lead and supervise daily maintenance activities across all site services functions
• Provide clear direction to lead hands, trades, and labor crews on daily and weekly work plans
• Maintain a strong field presence to verify work quality, safety compliance, and productivity
• Ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to defined standards and specifications
• Make real-time decisions to adjust priorities based on operational requirements
• Ensure proper staffing and coordination of crews across shifts and work scopes

Maintenance Planning & Reliability

• Ensure all site infrastructure assets are maintained through defined preventive maintenance programs
• Execute weekly work plans in alignment with Superintendent priorities and site requirements
• Identify recurring equipment or infrastructure failures and initiate corrective actions
• Drive improvements in asset reliability and availability of site infrastructure systems
• Ensure quality of maintenance work to minimize rework and repeat failures
• Maintain discipline in backlog execution, prioritization, and work completion

Infrastructure & Facilities Maintenance

• Supervise maintenance and repair of all site infrastructure including camps, admin buildings, shops, warehouse facilities, and storage structures
• Coordinate daily work for carpentry, electrical (non-process), plumbing, HVAC, and general labor crews
• Ensure infrastructure systems are maintained in a safe, functional, and reliable condition

Water Systems (Potable, Wastewater & Mine Water)

• Oversee operation and maintenance of potable water, wastewater, and mine water systems
• Ensure inspections, testing, and maintenance activities are completed as required
• Support compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with environmental and operations teams to maintain system performance

Powerhouse & Utilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of site power generation systems supporting infrastructure
• Ensure generators and utility systems are maintained and operating reliably
• Coordinate troubleshooting, repairs, and contractor support as required

Fuel Farm Operations

• Supervise operation of fuel storage and distribution systems
• Coordinate fuel deliveries and maintain accurate inventory tracking
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and handling regulations
• Coordinate site waste management activities including collection, recycling, and disposal Ensure proper waste segregation and handling practices are followed
• Coordinate with contractors for bin swaps and disposal
• Enforce site waste management protocols and communication channels

Snow Removal & Seasonal Operations

• Lead planning and execution of snow removal activities during winter operations
• Ensure equipment readiness and crew allocation for snow events
• Coordinate with operations to maintain safe and accessible site conditions
• Support seasonal water management activities during summer operations

Additional Responsibilities

• All other duties as reasonably assigned

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

• Relevant trade certification, technical diploma, or post-secondary education in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or a related field is an asset
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Previous experience working in a mining, industrial, construction, or remote site environment is preferred

Experience / Skills

• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial, mining, construction, or maintenance environment
• Proven experience leading trades, maintenance crews, contractors, and field personnel
• Strong knowledge of site infrastructure, facilities, utilities, water systems, power generation, fuel systems, and general maintenance activities
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance, work planning, backlog management, and maintenance execution
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to adjust priorities based on operational requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction to field teams
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with a strong focus on work quality, safety, and productivity
• Effective team player who can build strong working relationships across Maintenance, Operations, Environmental, and other site departments
• Highly self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and maintaining reliable site infrastructure
• Experience working with CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems is an asset
• Strong contractor coordination and field execution skills
• Ability to work effectively in a remote site environment and adapt to changing operational priorities

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation

The expected hourly rate for this position is CAD $59, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
