Job description

Job Title: Site Leader

Location: Piccadilly Seniors Community, Long Term Care Home, Salmon Arm, BC

Reports To: Vice President (VP) of Operations


Position Summary: Piccadilly Seniors Community is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Site Leader to join our team. The Site Leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of safe, quality care and services within our Care Home. This position requires a collaborative approach, working with a wide range of individuals both internal and external to Piccadilly Seniors Community. The Site Leader will lead and participate in the development and enhancement of a Care Home environment that promotes a culture of caring, innovation, scientific inquiry, and empowerment, grounded in strong leadership and teamwork.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety & Quality:
    • Provide a safe and healthy environment where care and service are effective, efficient, and person-centered with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
    • Ensure Resident care and service delivery aligns with Piccadilly Seniors Community's philosophy, annual goals, and organizational mission, vision, and values.
    • Lead the interdisciplinary team in developing, implementing, and evaluating the Home’s operational goals to support the achievement of organizational goals.
    • Oversee the development and monitoring of accreditation functions in collaboration with the Quality Team.
    • Implement a comprehensive quality and risk management program in alignment with the corporate strategic plan.
  2. Teamwork & Partnerships:
    • Foster a connected culture that brings out the best in everyone while achieving common goals.
    • Promote and exemplify the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization.
    • Develop community partnerships and ensure participative working relationships with Health Authority contacts, other health service providers, and community agencies.
    • Ensure all team members provide appropriate service delivery for Residents and families in their day-to-day work.
  3. Responsibility & Stewardship:
    • Promote a proactive approach to achievement by ensuring employees are aware of their targets, expectations, and progress through regular discussions.
    • Provide financial leadership by managing budgets and monitoring long-term strategic fiscal plans.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including Ministry Acts, regulations, policies, procedures, directives, and collective agreements.
  4. Innovation & Creativity:
    • Provide leadership and direction in developing innovative programs and services in alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
    • Create an environment that facilitates and encourages positive change, improvements, and efficiencies.
    • Advocate for system improvement and transformation.
  5. Empathy & Trust:
    • Foster trusting relationships through welcoming diversity, practicing acceptance, and seeking to understand the experiences and feelings of others.
    • Create an environment free of discrimination where everyone feels welcomed and supported.
    • Facilitate positive community relationships and promote the Care Home within the community.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other related health care discipline preferred.
  2. Minimum of five years’ experience in seniors housing or residential care setting with three years in a management/administrative position.
  3. Eligible for membership in a relevant professional association.
  4. Management experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  5. Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, basic accounting, database management, spreadsheets, email, and internet.
