Reporting to the Construction Executive Director, the Installation Manager is responsible for the successful execution of the installation phase of the projects entrusted to them; they ensure complete installation oversight. As such, they are accountable for meeting the installation contractual deliverables and achieving objectives in terms of safety, quality, cost, deadlines, and customer satisfaction. For the project installation phase under its responsibility, the Installation Manager is the client’s onsite primary point of contact.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage installation projects from initiation to completion, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
- Review technical drawings and specifications to plan site activities.
- Develop detailed installation plans, work breakdown structures, and resource allocation strategies. Coordinate activities with engineering, procurement, construction, project management team, and commissioning teams.
- Anticipate risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Provide regular updates on progress, challenges,resource needs, and resolve issues promptly.
- Coordinate the handover to commissioning and operations teams.
- Supervise and support installation crews, subcontractors, and site supervisors. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and performance excellence.
- Conduct daily site meetings, assign tasks, and ensure proper workforce deployment.
- Enforce HSE policies and conduct safety briefings, audits and document risk assessments.
- Ensure that all installation activities are performed in accordance with company and regulatory safety standards.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee QA/QC processes related to equipment handling, alignment, anchoring, and system integration. Verify that installations meet design specifications and functional requirements.
- Conduct inspections and collaborate with QA/QC teams to verify conformance.
- Maintain installation records and issue daily progress and quality reports.
- Maintain comprehensive records including installation procedures, inspection reports, NCRs, and commissioning readiness documentation.
