Jacobs in Toronto is seeking a Site Inspector (Tunneling/Conveyance) to report to senior inspection staff and the construction manager. You will work as a field representative, performing inspections on tunneling/conveyance projects for municipal clients and coordinating with the design team, clients and contractors.
The role requires a minimum of 10 years in site inspection, experience with tunneling projects is a plus, and a valid driver’s license to access sites.

Your impact
As a Site Inspector (Tunneling/Conveyance), based out of our Toronto office, you will report to senior inspection staff, as well as the construction manager. You’ll have the chance to work as a consultant’s representative in the field, providing construction inspection services for various tunneling /conveyance projects for various municipalities. Working with other members of the team, you’ll coordinate and communicate with all parties on a project, including engineering design team, client project manager, contract administrator and contractors.
Typical projects include heavy civil works as well as large complicated, tunneling projects.
You will ensure construction is in accordance with contract drawings and specifications; keep detailed, legible and adequate records of construction activities; prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports; keep activities tracking logs, photo records; and assist in preparation of change orders, payment certificates, schedule reviews. You will coordinate and facilitate with engineering design team to review of shop drawing; requests for information; site instructions and assist in resolving design/construction issues in the field. You will apply company’s and client’s standards for construction inspections and administration.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $115,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
