The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally. The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Communicate and coordinate with Kinross personnel and business partners, casual workers, visitors, and site contacts to ensure compliance with site access requirements.
  2. Answer queries and handle requests related to site access which require problem-solving and judgement.
  3. Develop and review site access policies and procedures with the Health, Safety, & Security Lead.
  4. Support the development of camp access procedures and maintain ongoing communication with camp personnel.
  5. Responsible for ensuring that personnel accessing the site have met all necessary requirements prior to accessing site in an organized and timely manner.
  6. Escalate issues requiring knowledge about the broader business impact of decisions where required.
  7. Responsible for ensuring site induction is organized appropriately for Kinross personnel, business partners, casual workers, and visitors.
  8. Keep accurate and detailed records of all site access activities.
  9. Work with the security team to develop a process for the creation and issuance of access badges.
  10. Offer support and assistance to site personnel and visitors regarding access-related inquiries and issues.
  11. Prepare and submit regular reports on site access compliance and any incidents or breaches.
  12. Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy surrounding all company, employee, and business partner information.
  13. Support a work environment that is aligned with Kinross’s Safeground principles.
  14. Comply with federal, provincial and local acts and regulations.
  15. Adhere to all relevant Great Bear policies and procedures.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned by the HSS Lead.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  1. Post secondary diploma in a business-related field with a minimum of 2 years’ experience performing administrative or security functions. Alternatively, a Secondary School Graduation Diploma with over 5 years in an office environment would be considered. Experience in the mining industry would be an asset.
  2. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This position is a twelve (12) month fixed term contract, 5 x 2 schedule based in Red Lake, Ontario.
