Morning Shift: 06:00am- 04:00pm

In this role, the Simulator Technician will be expected to:

  • Perform technical tasks on site, in field or laboratory.
  • Troubleshoot and conduct maintenance on flight simulators.
  • Receive training in the various phases of laboratory, office, plant or field technical work.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks on designated simulators.
  • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Comply with CAE quality management system.
  • Perform logistics and inventory duties, including parts receipt, shipment, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Must have working computer software experience.
  • 2-year technical degree or 4 years in an electronic, avionic, or technical related field.
  • Open to junior candidates who are eager to learn. Related experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts day and night, and to adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in operating test equipment (oscilloscope, multi-meter, signal generator, logic analyzer, etc.).

Physical Effort:

  • The physical or muscular exertion required for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting or moving objects (weighing as much as 50lbs) and the resulting fatigue brought about by these activities.
  • Work in sustained sitting, standing, stooping, and squatting positions. Also climbing on ladders and equipment to heights 25 to 30 feet above the floor. Ability to safely move and work on equipment in confined spaces for reasonable periods.
  • The physical dexterity required in performing tasks requiring hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Have the manual dexterity, knowledge, and experience necessary to work safely and effectively with various hand tools.
  • Ability to always maintain situational awareness and work safely on and around complex machinery, that is characterized by sudden, and at times violent movement in all 3 axes.
  • Ability to work safely in cool interior conditions (temps between 55- and 65-degrees Fahrenheit).
