About the Opportunity

Under the direction of the trauma program manager, the Simulation Assistant supports all aspects of simulated and experiential learning with the trauma program required. In collaboration with the Clinical Practice leader, ATLS coordinators, and physicians works to create a respectful and interprofessional environment.

The Simulation Assistant prepares the physical simulation spaces, equipment and supplies to support the effective and efficient running of the simulation education sessions. The Simulation Assistant is involved with operations of the simulation space including organizing, communicating with participants and troubleshooting. The Simulation Assistant exhibits the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours that align with the Trauma program mission and values.

About You

  • Grade 12 required
  • Completion of a relevant program or a combination of education and experience preferred
  • Two years of relevant experience working in healthcare and customer service-orientated experience
  • Ability to be proficient with hardware such as PC and Mac computers, video cameras and microphones
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with shifting priorities in order to meet conflicting deadlines is essential
  • Demonstrated aptitude for performing general maintenance on mechanical systems
  • Strong attention to detail is required. Excellent organization and time management skills are essential
  • Ability to adapt and work in new technology forums is an asset
  • Ability to prioritize own work
  • Ablility to proactively keep abreast of new and emerging technologies
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to users
  • Adheres to standards for simulation program operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot IT/AV or Simulation Technology issues
  • Ability to lift more than 40 lbs, i.e., patient simulators
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
