The High-Speed Interfaces Silicon Validation team is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team to support the silicon lab activities for our ultra high-speed (100Gbps+) network communication devices. Be part of a fast moving, enthusiastic, and dynamic team made up of validation, applications, systems, and mixed signal design engineers. In the lab, you will contribute and manage the test hardware setups, further growing your hardware and software skills as you support testing these devices. This is an opportunity to work with the latest lab equipment and software tools, and on leading-edge technology.

Position Overview

You will work in a team environment supporting validation and characterization for the next generation ultra-high-speed interfaces, such as Serial-Deserializer (SerDes) transceivers or optical transceivers. Your responsibilities include supporting test activities for SerDes devices, maintaining hardware setups, performing preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment, managing lab logistics and safety, and executing Python automation scripts to characterize devices, all under the guidance of experienced engineers.

What You Will Do

• Characterize SerDes devices, including hardware bench setups, measurements, and debugging; support and maintain Python scripts for automation and lab instrumentation control (oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal analyzers, VNAs, VOAs, OSAs, power meters).
• Collaborate with team and subcontractors to procure lab equipment, consumables, and materials.
• Manage lab logistics and perform preventative maintenance.
• Ensure equipment calibration certifications are up to date.
• Maintain lab safety standards.
• Coordinate with building operations on facility-related matters.
• Create and update documentation such as lab procedures and equipment records.
• Provide regular status reports on lab activities.

What You Will Need

• Diploma in Electrical Technician or Technology.
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
• Skills in debugging, repairing, soldering, and manual PCB assembly.
• Experience with equipment like oscilloscopes, BERTs, signal analyzers, VNAs, power supplies, VOAs, OSA, power meters.
• Ability to organize and manage lab equipment and supplies.

It Would Be Amazing If You Had

• Python programming experience for IC testing and automation.
• Knowledge of signal and power integrity concepts.
• Semiconductor knowledge, especially SerDes devices.
