Qualifications

  • Must have Grade 12 or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree or 2-3 year college in Electronics, Engineering or related field.
  • Successful completion of CN's apprenticeship program (in-class theory, lab, and hands-on).
  • Valid Driver's License and CDL.
  • Commitment to CN values and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, maintain, test, and inspect signal systems and apparatus (blocks, controls, cab signals, interlocking).
  • Perform construction duties: dig holes, lay cables, install equipment.
  • Handle highway grade crossing protection and yard operations.
  • Use hand tools, test equipment, and on-track procedures safely.
  • Follow CN safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
