Qualifications

Job description

Immediate need for Siemens Gamesa Troubleshooters with experience and training on Siemens Gamesa turbines.

As a Wind Turbine Troubleshooter, you will be responsible for identifying common, reoccurring, and major component faults on newly operational Siemens G145 wind turbine generators:

1. Travel to various wind farm sites across the U.S. and Canada for job assignments

• Troubleshoot problems on systems where duly trained/certified, including hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical to ensure wind turbine and generator are operational and functioning properly

• Develop advanced troubleshooting knowledge and skills on site in collaboration with other competent individuals
• May perform maintenance tasks
• Lead small teams; accountable for the safety, competency, and productivity of individuals assigned to them
• Keep records, maintain documentation, and report technical, safety issues, and difficulties as required by company policy
• Maintain and follow safety procedures as required by company policy
• May assist or perform component replacement, retrofits, and other special assignments
• Continue to develop and expand wind maintenance skillset through on-the-job training and train others in performing service work
• Work safely, competently, and productively under the direction of others

Must meet the following requirements, have or obtain the listed required certifications and training (may be provided), including but not limited to:

• Must have 3+ years of successful experience troubleshooting Siemens Gamesa G114, G126, G132, SG145, or Vestas 3.X or 4.X wind turbines
• Citizen of or eligible to travel to and work in Canada for extended periods of time (valid passport required)
• Ability to work an 8-week on, 1-week off rotation
• Physically able to safely climb wind turbines up to 90m+ (300+ feet), stand, stoop, walk, crawl, crouch, and meet physical demands of the position
• Solid knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems
• Maintenance experience, including using grease guns, filter changes, ERAD system, torquing, tensioning, and similar service tasks
• Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record
• Must be 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) – fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid
• GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) – electrical, hydraulic, mechanical
• SGRE Basic Technician Training/Troubleshooter certification (Family 3 preferred)
• OSHA 10 General Industry
• Applicable Siemens Gamesa Technical eLearning
• Crane, Chain Hoist, and Rigging Safety Training
• NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness
• Prefer training or experience with Touchscreen Controller Hand Terminals
