A leading Canadian university in Mississauga is seeking a Tutorial Leader for the CHM242H5F Introductory Organic Chemistry I course. The position requires a B.Sc. in Chemistry and prior teaching assistance experience. Responsibilities include conducting demonstrations, leading tutorials, and marking assignments. Strong knowledge of organic chemistry and good communication skills are essential. This is a part-time role during the fall semester from September to December 2025.

Course Title : CHM242H5F Introductory Organic Chemistry I
Course Description : Fundamentals of organic chemistry emphasizing reactions of alkanes and alkenes. The first half of a two-course sequence (with CHM243H5) required in the Chemistry major and specialist programs.
Number of Positions (est) : 4 positions. * Positions are dependent on actual course enrolment, and are not guaranteed.
Course Enrolment (est): 350 students
Hours of work (est) : 30 hours

Salary : CUPE3902 Unit 3 Salaries . The rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Qualifications :B.Sc. in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry. Sound knowledge in contents covered in the course required. Previous TA experience working with undergraduate students in Chemistry laboratory and/or tutorial setting an asset to be able to demonstrate and deliver course content consistently within the UofT's standards. Good communication skills are required as well.
Description of Duties : Duties will include laboratory demonstrations, leading tutorials, marking laboratory reports, and/or quizzes/assignments. May also include invigilation of term tests and/or final exam.
