About MacCosham Inc.

MacCosham has been providing rail yard terminal services for over 50 years and is experienced in the management of a variety of yard configurations. In addition to our rail intermodal terminal services, including lift-on/lift-off of containers and hostler services, we also operate several container and chassis repair depots associated with rail yard terminal services, with a full range of mechanical, welding, and associated repair services.

MacCosham Inc is looking for a full time, permanent, Shunt Truck Driver to join our growing team in Regina, SK.

The Role

  • Shuttling containers and chassis to and from track within a private rail yard
  • Inspecting containers and chassis for damage, reporting accordingly
  • Installing and removing inter box connectors (IBCs) from railcars
  • Unlocking/locking containers
  • Driving truck in small, tight spaces
  • Updating inventory in a specialized computer system (Oasis)
  • Updating and maintaining accurate fuel records of company fleet
  • Accurately reporting fuel records and temperatures on perishable loads
  • Completing and documenting accurate pre-trip analysis of yard equipment using tablets
  • Performing physical duties relevant to job requirements (standing, bending, lifting on railcars)
  • Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures and regulations
  • Performing other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous shunting experience is considered an asset
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Able to work a varied schedule, flexible shifts, available some weekends
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in all elements (varies daily, approx. 75% of shift will be spent outdoors)
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
  • Able to communicate clearly over radio; able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
