Job summary

JBS Food Canada is seeking a Shunt Truck Driver for the Brooks, AB facility to support bulk product deliveries and dispatch communications in a busy processing environment.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Class 1 license with 2 years of experience, demonstrates excellent attendance and communication skills, and can work varied shifts including weekends. Basic computer skills are expected; relocation and strong benefits are provided.

Responsibilities

• Receive and relay information to central dispatcher.
• Delivery of bulk products to local facilities.
• Assist in a number of associated duties.
• Operate and drive straight to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.

As a member of the team you will be responsible for a variety of duties including:

Requirements:

Successful candidates will use their established driving skills, in a variety of complex and local transportation duties.

• Receive and relay information to central dispatcher;
• Delivery of bulk products to local facilities;
• Assist in a number of associated duties;
• Operate and drive straight to transport goods and materials;
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment;
• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.

An ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Valid Driver’s license (Class 1);
• 2 Years Class 1 Driver Experience
• Excellent attendance and performance;
• Excellent language and communication
• Ability to work various shifts/weekends as required;
• Basic Computers skills.

Work Site Environment

Noisy, Odors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated.
