Shop Supervisor, Highway Maintenance – Entwistle

Ledcor is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Highway Maintenance Supervisor to lead highway infrastructure, maintenance, and construction activities in Fox Creek, Alberta. In this role, you will oversee crews to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and maintenance standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Lead & Direct Teams: Provide overall direction to ensure project goals, safety, and contract schedules are met.
  2. Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate with front-line leaders, ensuring contract requirements are successfully executed.
  3. Operational Oversight: Monitor performance metrics (cost, schedule, safety, quality, environment) and guide teams to achieve them.
  4. Strategic Planning: Assist in schedule development, resource allocation, and execution plans to ensure project success.
  5. Coaching & Mentorship: Support front-line leaders with training and development to enhance team performance.
  6. Health & Safety Leadership: Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Ledcor’s HS&E standards and OH&S regulations.
  7. Budget & Financial Oversight: Review financial reports and implement strategies to achieve targets.
  8. Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure contract and regulatory compliance, including collective agreement administration.
  9. Fleet & Asset Management: Assist in planning and implementing improvement strategies for effective asset utilization.

Qualifications

  1. 3-5 years of experience in highway road maintenance, infrastructure, bridge maintenance, or construction in a supervisory role.
  2. Technical training or trade certification in a related field is an asset.
  3. Experience managing bridge and highway projects is an advantage.
  4. Strong knowledge of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards.
  5. Proven planning, scheduling, and leadership skills.
  6. Experience with continuous improvement processes (ISO or other management systems) is preferred.

Work Conditions

  1. Applicants residing in Entwistle, Alberta, will be given preference due to the nature of the work.
  2. Some shift work, on-call, and night shifts will be required due to weather patterns.
  3. Work schedule is Monday to Friday, with monitoring for after-hours emergencies.
  4. Work involves both office and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
  5. Relocation allowance available.
