Qualifications

• Valid G Driver's License.
• Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs and work in a garage style environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate safe and healthy work behaviors in line with safety policies.
• Assist Shop Technicians and Supervisors as directed.
• Track, store and maintain tooling to ensure safe operation.
• Locate and move equipment to end locations before/after repairs.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and assist with contamination control.
• Prepare components for pickup by technicians or shipping.

Job description

Toromont Cat is looking for a Shop Helper to join our team in Sudbury! This position is responsible for supporting our branch site location with the workflow by keeping all shop areas organized and safe in order to streamline customer orders accurately and in a timely manner. The Shop Helper is intended to assist Shop Technicians and Supervisors in an effort to maximize the productivity and efficiency.

In a typical day, you will

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Assist Shop Technicians and Supervisors as directed in support of the business' needs
• Track, store and maintain all required tooling required to ensure safe tool operation
• Be responsible for the calibration of the tools, making sure to respect the expiry date parameters
• Locate and clean equipment as required, including moving the equipment to end locations before and after repairs are made
• Validate component lists and prepare for pickup by technicians or shipping via carrier
• Maintain shop and surrounding work area cleanliness
• Support Contamination Control efforts by maintaining bulk oil, collection sites and solvent stands according to ISO standards
• Ensure waste is segregated according to established policies
• Clean, typhoon/steam wash and buff parts as directed to assist Technicians with repairs
• May occasionally help technicians on the road with their tasks
