Job description

We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee the daily operations of our shop, ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of our on- and off-road equipment. This role involves hands-on work as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, managing a team of shop technicians, and coordinating all aspects of fleet servicing and parts procurement. The successful candidate will ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards, including CVIP inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty on- and off-road equipment.
  • Supervise, schedule, and support shop mechanics to maintain productivity and safety standards.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of CVIP inspections and compliance for all commercial vehicles and equipment.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of parts and supplies needed for shop operations.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspection reports.
  • Liaise with operations and management teams to prioritize equipment repairs and availability.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (preferred or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience supervising or leading a mechanical team in a shop environment.
  • Strong understanding of on- and off-road equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Familiarity with CVIP inspection standards and commercial vehicle compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 an asset).
