Position Overview

We are looking for a Shop Bracket Labourer to join our RM Building Solutions division! This position will primarily be responsible for general labour within a shop fabrication environment. We are looking for a candidate familiar with steel bracket fabrications and can navigate welding processes. This position has strong potential to develop into a fabrication or welding apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general tasks related to material handling, clean up, etc.
  • Basic tool and machinery operations and other manufacturing tasks
  • Assist tradespersons and other fabrication personnel
  • Transport materials and products throughout the shop
  • Clean work areas and equipment
  • Perform flat, horizontal, and vertical fillet welds
  • Operate a grinder, iron worker and crane
  • Instill a culture of safety and maintain occupational health and safety documentation
  • Participate in all Company safety programming including weekly safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident reporting and investigation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license or transportation to work
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Prior experience in fabrication or welding environments is preferred

Hours of Work

Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00am – 4:00pm with 8-10 hour shifts.

  • Primary work setting is in a shop environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a continuous basis and be willing to work outside, exposed to the elements at times
