Position Overview: The Shop Appliance Assistant plays a key support role in ensuring smooth operations within the Parts and Service Department. Reporting directly to the Parts and Service Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing basic mechanical tasks (such as door swings, side venting, and minor modifications), appliance detailing, and general warehouse duties.

The ideal candidate will be proactive in maintaining daily shop work completion, supporting technician productivity, and contributing to a safe, clean, and efficient workplace. This role also assists with technician escalations as needed and helps facilitate timely appliance repairs and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Complete mechanical modifications on appliances (door swings, venting, minor retrofits)
  2. Detail and clean appliances post-repair to ensure readiness for delivery or technician pickup
  3. Complete all assigned tasks in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and update work logs accurately
  4. Assist in staging, creating, and preparing parts or units for technician access
  5. Support in-shop or on-road technicians as needed for heavy lifting, moving, or second-man assistance
  6. Perform basic quality control checks before and after service work
  7. Organize and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient shop floor, including recycling materials
  8. Maintain shop tools and equipment, reporting issues promptly
  9. Participate in H&S meetings, inspections, and other seasonal programs
  10. Ensure all activities comply with health and safety policies and protocols

Candidate Requirements:

  1. 1–2 years of mechanical or warehouse experience
  2. Physically capable of moving heavy appliances (over 100 lbs) using appropriate equipment
  3. Strong prioritization and time management skills
  4. Comfortable using systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, tablets, or scanners
  5. Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage multiple tasks
  6. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  7. Strong attention to detail and ability to complete documentation accurately

Work Environment:

  1. Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  2. Based out of Annacis Island
  3. Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays

Compensation: $21 - $24 per hour
