What To Expect

Tesla Toronto Automation builds automated equipment to support the assembly of Tesla products around the world. We seek a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to support the control and movement of materials in and out of our modern air-conditioned facility in Markham, ON. The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will primarily receive materials from external suppliers and internal off-site locations, ensure that the correct materials are received in good order, approve invoices, and move them into our warehouse, shop floor, and office. They will also pack and load items for shipment to off-site locations, ensuring that the correct parts are safe and secure, and ready in a timely fashion. The candidate will be cross-trained to support other Inventory Department duties as needed by the business. They will interact with employees of all levels in different areas of our factory and organization. The role is full-time day shift, 44 hours/week, with overtime sometimes required per business needs. Employment features health, dental, vision, pharma, RRSP-matching, and more benefits.

What You'll Do

  1. Receive, verify, inspect, count, and stock materials according to procedure, as well as verify, pack, ship, load outgoing materials according to procedure.
  2. Load and unload materials onto or from carts, pallets, or racks, for movement or storage, by hand or using equipment.
  3. Maintain accurate and detailed material records and logs.
  4. Perform cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
  5. Respond to calls and inquiries concerning materials, shipping, receiving, or other logistics-related activities during business hours.
  6. Maintain good housekeeping and proper safety practices in the work area, adhering to warehouse safety standards (e.g., PPE, proper conveyance equipment etiquette, etc.).
  7. Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business.

What You'll Bring

  1. 3-5 years of prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  2. Experience operating a counterbalance forklift, pallet jacks, and dollies is required; experience with a reach truck is preferred.
  3. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs., regularly climb and reach, and stand or walk for most of the shift.
  4. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, simple formulas in Excel, business email, and experience with data entry into an ERP system.
  5. Ability to work well with others, interact with employees at all levels, and provide excellent customer service.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Dependable and predictable attendance is required.
