International Point of Care Incorporated (IPOC) is a Fortis Life Sciences company, based in Toronto, Canada, and is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the in-vitro diagnostic industry and research and development community. With a strong focus on rapid point-of-care testing, we offer contract IVD manufacturing, lateral flow components (including our advanced PrimeCare blood separation membrane), and custom lyophilization services.

IPOC is seeking a qualified Logistics Associate to join our inventory and purchasing operations. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Head of Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of inventory management systems and procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining budgets, analyzing materials, and researching vendors.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Materials Management Department, including Shipping, Receiving, Warehousing, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Material Handling, and Facilities.
  2. Handle the acquisition and availability of materials and equipment; manage correspondence and contact with suppliers.
  3. Negotiate and communicate with suppliers effectively.
  4. Optimize warehouse functions for efficiency.
  5. Report any accidents or injuries occurring on the floor.
  6. Collaborate with internal departments to identify and address operational gaps.
  7. Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required.
  8. Analyze data from shipping and delivery processes to identify bottlenecks and issues.
  9. Monitor logistics to ensure smooth operations.
  10. Maintain supply chain inventory and records.
  11. Work with finance, sales, and manufacturing teams to select the best vendors and distributors.
  12. Build and maintain good relationships with vendors.
  13. Identify cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes.
  14. Analyze procurement metrics to improve supply chain efficiency.
  15. Conduct inventory analyses and risk assessments based on supply trends and demand factors.
  16. Resolve issues such as delays in delivery or accidents promptly.
  17. Develop and implement safety guidelines across the supply chain, including the use of trucks and forklifts.
  18. Coordinate completion of work according to schedule and priorities set by the manager.
  19. Contribute to process improvements.
  20. Maintain department documentation, including database updates, inventory records, and manufacturing batch records.
