Job summary

Fastco in Calgary, Canada, seeks an Order Picker for a full-time temporary mandate. You will retrieve goods from designated bins, drive an order picker lift truck, and place items on the conveyor while ensuring correct order assembly.

You’ll follow health and safety procedures, keep areas clean, and assist with inventory and reporting. Strong English skills and a year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or vocational training.
• Excellent knowledge of English spoken and written.
• Experience operating an elevating platform order/stock picker.
• Reach truck experience is an asset.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in a similar position.
• Experience with RF scanners and wireless devices is an asset.
• Steel toe boots are a must.
• Able to perform repetitive tasks.
• Capable of working in varying temperatures.
• Good physical endurance moving goods up to 60 lbs and more.

FULL TIME / TEMPORARY MANDATE

OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Order Picker ensures that orders are prepared and shipped without errors, efficiently and in a timely manner for our customers. Will perform other related duties as requested by his immediate superior, all in accordance with internal procedures and rules.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Pick merchandise 90 %

• Take the order sheets and go to the correct bin locations to recover the right number of products.
• Drive an order picker lift truck to access the bin location in the warehouse.
• Place the items on the conveyor.
• Collect the accessory boxes prepared by the storekeeper and ensure they are placed with the correct orders.

Health & Safety 5 %

• Be compliant with the standards and business procedures as well as enforcing the health and safety laws.
• Ensure that work areas and equipment are kept clean and organized at all times.

Other 5%

• Participate in the annual inventory.
• Complete various reports.
