Job summary

Jacobs & Thompson is seeking an experienced Shipping Manager to oversee outbound logistics and finished goods shipping within our manufacturing facility. You will ensure accurate, timely, and cost‑effective preparation and dispatch of products.

You will collaborate with production, warehouse, and customer service, manage ASN generation, and maintain shipping documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is essential to control inventory movements and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of shipping/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
• Experience creating and managing Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN).
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, carrier management, and freight terms.
• Experience with domestic and international shipping processes.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities across departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping operations including scheduling, routing, and dispatch.
• Prepare, stage, and verify finished goods prior to shipment.
• Generate and transmit ASNs to customers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Coordinate with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to align shipping schedules with customer requirements.
• Ensure all shipping docs (BOLs, packing lists, invoices, export documents) are complete and accurate.
• Use Dynamics 365 to manage inventory movements and shipping transactions.
• Monitor inventory accuracy related to outbound shipments.
• Develop efficient shipping processes to reduce costs and improve delivery.
• Negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
• Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations.
• Track shipments and resolve delays, damages, or discrepancies.
• Supervise and train shipping staff.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping area.
