Bevo Farms Ltd is the largest supplier of propagated plants in North America, providing greenhouses, field farms, nurseries, and wholesalers across the continent with healthy, vigorous, pest-and-disease-free plants. Bevo operates four facilities in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.

Summary

The Shipping Coordinator plays a key role within the shipping and operations team, ensuring the efficient management of product shipments and receipts. This position involves overseeing the shipping and receiving process, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all operations meet high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor shipping team members to enhance performance and productivity.
  • Plan, prepare, and prioritize shipments according to scheduled delivery timelines and customer needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to achieve daily shipment goals and address any operational challenges.
  • Review customer sales orders, skid sheets, and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate and prepare necessary shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, skid labels, and customs paperwork.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and enter data into the ERP system for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Confirm receipt of goods, verify quantities, and input information into the ERP system for inventory and procurement.
  • Obtain freight quotes, handle authorization procedures, and arrange transportation for domestic and international shipments, ensuring cost-efficiency and timely deliveries.

Required Skills Or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in shipping, dispatch, or brokerage environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and related software.
  • Proficient in Office 365 applications
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Miscellaneous Requirements

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Able to begin work at 6 am on business days, with occasional hours required on Saturdays.
  • Must possess own transportation
