Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with shipping and production at the plant.
Responsibilities
- Support production needs by providing work orders for manufacturing, data entry, and inventory supply of consumable items.
- Assist with data entry of production and shipping tallies into an inventory management system.
- Create work orders, labels, and barcodes.
- Provide updates to management on the status of work orders and daily production.
- Review detailed inventory position reports for production priorities and plan production schedules daily.
- Conduct spot inventory cycle counts and weekly physical inventories of consumables.
- Process and tally inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy of all tallies and loads.
- Assist with load diagrams for trucks and rail orders to maximize freight utilization and balance load weights.
- Adhere to all work safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum two years' related experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Solid math skills and effective communication skills for team collaboration.
- Lumber manufacturing or lumber yard experience is an asset.
