Job summary

Battlefield Equipment Rentals' Winnipeg branch is seeking a dedicated Shipping Receiving associate to ensure equipment is ready and available for rental, while maintaining clear information flow for the rental and sales teams.

This full-time role offers $21.42 per hour and requires handling heavy lifting, coordinating yard staff, and maintaining accurate shipping documents. You will help customers with equipment knowledge and help keep the yard, shop, and warehouse organized and safe.

Responsibilities

• Manage shipping and receiving operations for the branch.
• Coordinate yard staff.
• Ensure shipping documents are accurate and submitted.
• Receive and dispatch equipment.
• Maintain inventory reports and equipment readiness.
• Assist customers with rental equipment knowledge.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the yard, shop, and warehouse.
• Assist fleet drivers and outside carriers.
• Report safety infractions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Our Winnipeg branch is a busy, team-oriented facility within Battlefield Equipment Rentals that places a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. The Shipping Receivingposition is an important one for our business, ensuring that our equipment is ready and available as well as maintaining a flow of information on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff.

Job Type: Full-time

Wage: $21.42/hour

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the shipping & receiving operations of the branch;

Coordinate all yard staff;

• Ensure all shipping documents are accurate and submitted;
• Receive and dispatch all equipment brought to or through your area;
• Retrieve/confirm rental numbers for the counter;
• Assist customers with rental equipment knowledge and usage of equipment;
• Responsible for yard, shop, & warehouse organization and cleanliness;
• Help customers load/unload incoming and outgoing shipment;
• Report all safety infractions to the yard supervisor;
• Maintain inventory reports;
• Ensure all equipment is in proper running order before it leaves the branch;
• Assist with fleet drivers and outside carriers;
• Maintain a safe working environment;
• Follow safety standards as set out by our Health & Safety Policies;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications:

The ability to provide various shipping and receiving duties in a busy, potentially stressful environment;

Existing knowledge of construction equipment and building products, with hands-on experience in minor repairs and service/maintenance requirements for various types of construction equipment;

• Excellent paperwork and organizational skills, with an affinity for process management;
• Ability to work independently when required;
• Willingness to adapt to possible overtime hours;
• Good communication and people skills;

Additional Qualifications:

Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting, as heavy lifting will be required frequently.
