Job summary

Advanced Flow Systems is seeking a Shipper/Receiver/Shop Helper to coordinate shipping and receiving, maintain orderly operations, and assist with pipe cutting to length. The role requires a high school diploma, mechanical tech background, and forklift certification, with opportunity for growth.

You will verify orders, generate packing slips, and ensure proper packaging per customer requirements while supporting production flow and quality processes in a hands-on shop environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a High school diploma or GED.
• Post-secondary education in mechanical or engineering technology is an asset.
• Minimum 2 years of computer experience.
• Experience with receiving/shipping, inspection and testing, traceability, nonconformance management, corrective and preventive actions, document control, records management, and production flow processes.
• Valid forklift certification.
• Experience with cutting pipes to required lengths using bandsaw or plasma cutter is an asset.
• Experience with heavy equipment including loaders, telehandlers and overhead cranes is an asset.
• Knowledge of ASME / ABSA standards.
• Familiarity with pipe grades, schedules, flange, and fittings is asset.

Responsibilities

The Role

The Shipper/Receiver/Shop Helper is responsible for the critical aspects of projects including the coordination of shipping and receiving of purchased materials and components. Maintaining a clean, organized operation. Early start, late finish, weekend work when required to keep production on track.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive purchased products and verify against purchase order requirements
• Receive customer-supplied products and verify against customer requirements
• Generate packing slips, calculate weights, determine dimensions
• Ensure shipments are packaged according to customer requirements
• Coordinate shipments with customers and carriers
• Maintain daily shipping log
• Maintain shipping supply inventory
• Work in accordance with the quality management system ASME/ABSA
• Work in accordance with documented procedures and complete all applicable records
• Maintain production flow
• Assist with cutting pipe to required length using a bandsaw/plasma cutter

What You Bring
