Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory/Materials Associate for an afternoon shift at our Brampton facility. You will maintain daily inventory counts, transfer materials in SAP, and coordinate inbound/outbound logistics to support production.

Forklift experience and SAP proficiency are essential, with a strong focus on accuracy and safety. The role includes shift premium, potential overtime, and benefits after one month.

Qualifications

• Experience in inventory management and daily material handling.
• Knowledge of SAP for inbound/outbound postings and stock transfers.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification.
• Ability to work on an afternoon shift and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Count and manage raw material inventory; provide reports to planning.
• Transfer materials in SAP between storage areas per production needs.
• Ensure proper allergen/material labeling and FIFO/SOP adherence.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound traffic for finished goods and materials.
• Support shippers/receivers and production with material readiness for loads.
• Set up materials for afternoon production and the next day.
• Assist with ad hoc requests and escalate issues as needed.

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is a Canadian consumer packaged meats company. At our facilities, our employees work with various types of meat including chicken, beef and pork. As this is a FULL-TIME permanent opportunity, we require the availability of 40 hours/week.

Hourly Wage Rate

• Starting Rate: $21.93/hour
• After 6 Months: $22.18/hour
• After 18 Months: $22.43/hour
• Top Rate (After 30 Months): $22.68/hour

Wage progression is based on the successful completion of the applicable service milestones and is subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (where applicable)

Afternoon Shift

3:30 pm – 12:30 am (Training may be scheduled during the AM Shift)

Roles and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain accurate daily inventory counts.

• Manage and count physical raw material inventory on a daily basis.
• Provide inventory reports to the Raw Material Planning Specialist to support effective formulation planning.
• Transfer raw materials physically and in SAP between freezers and coolers according to production requirements provided by Raw Material Planning Specialist or Inventory Supervisor.
• Sort the dry ingredients in the warehouse according to allergen matrix and keep the warehouse clean all the time.
• Act as a liaison between the shipping department and all functional department/areas
• Analyze and investigate all inventory discrepancies as requested/correct any SAP system discrepancies and invoices related issues
• Enter delivery inbound in SAP for shipping personnel as needed, MIGO transactions as required
• Provide support and back up to the Shipper and Receivers as required
• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling all outbound traffic for finished goods going to EDC, MWDC or US for local and long-distance loads
• Responsible for coordinating and scheduling all inbound delivery coming into the facility
• Coordinate with Production to ensure material required for long-distance loads are ready (including US shipments).
• Schedule load and ensure target goals.
• Help manage any ad hoc requests.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor
• Pick up and put away received product/components
• Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders/production line
• Set’s up materials for afternoon production / next day
• Supply planning for volume
• Logistics for storage
• Inventory Adjustments

Food Safety/Quality

• Responsible for correct allergen and material labeling
• Direct and coordinate personnel to ensure material is received and stored in the proper identified area as well as ensure FIFO/SOP are being followed
• Maintain shipping records, including tracking and shipping history information and provide information for traceability as needed
• Ensure freezer/coolers in RAW and RTE inventory is stored following and sanitation wash cycles are completed

Health And Safety

• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections
• Demonstrated ability to wear proper PPE and comply with safety requirements
• Pulling, pushing, twisting, bending, heavy lifting and standing
• Preferred candidate with forklift experience (Counter balance, reach truck, double-reach)
• Lift truck certification is required
