Job description

Summary

The function of this position is to ship and receive products as required. Additionally, it is expected that the incumbent will maintain an organized warehouse, load picked orders, and supply accurate documentation of material received and shipped. There is frequent direct interaction with customers requiring delivery of excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Pick customer orders and prepare transfers for other branches in a timely, accurate manner
2. Provide excellent customer service to customers and truck drivers
3. Verify supplier-packing slips by physically checking deliveries
4. Advise Supervisor of shipment discrepancies immediately
5. Notify Supervisor when stock levels are low or back ordered
6. Report unsafe conditions to Supervisor or Branch Manager
7. Stock shelves and organize in a safe manner
8. Unload and load shipments manually and/or with a forklift
9. Comply with load weight and secure load restrictions
10. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse
11. Complete safety training and follow policies and procedures
12. Verify materials shipped from the warehouse
13. Prepare paperwork neatly and accurately
14. Assist with cycle and year-end inventory counts

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and reliably

• Effective communication skills in English; French is an asset

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, reaching, talking, and hearing. Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs, frequently up to 25 lbs, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The environment is usually moderate noise, primarily in the warehouse, requiring PPE such as safety boots and gloves. Exposure to outside elements and stairs may occur.
