Job description

Job Duties

• Utilize handheld tools such as nail guns, staplers, and saws to build crates and pallets for outgoing products 70-100% of scheduled shift
• Secure product on pallets using strapping or steel banding
• Identity appropriate crates and affix shipping labels for completed orders
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Help maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
• Operate Fork truck, Reach truck and/or overhead crane to assist with moving finished product
• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
• Follow all safety rules and quality standards
• Must be prepared and capable of sometimes working outdoors throughout all seasons
• Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
• Any other duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or Senior Leadership team
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is an asset
• 1+ years experience using nail guns, staplers, saws and working with wood
• Pallet or crate building experience would be an asset
• Experience with fork truck, reach truck and/or overhead crane is an asset
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand for most of the day
• Flexibility in scheduled shift may be required
• Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
• High level of attention to detail and focus on any given task
  

Hourly Range $19.50-21.00 based on experience
