Alberta Innovates is seeking a Shipper & Receiver for a casual term position at our Edmonton location (south side). The workdays and hours will vary. This position will include travel as needed to other company locations, e.g. Devon, Vegreville.
Under direct supervision, the Shipper & Receiver is responsible for the receipt and shipment of incoming mail, materials, supplies, and products. This position receives goods, verifies items against the record of shipment, and inspects condition. Other responsibilities include gathering, verifying, and packing items for shipment according to specifications and the transportation method used; recording received and shipped items according to established procedures; and unloading, delivering and/or distributing goods to the appropriate department promptly. The Shipper & Receiver liaises with internal and external clients, delivery, and transportation companies to ensure timely in-coming and out-going shipments and deliveries. Other duties as assigned, but not limited to, relieving the company Visitor & Facilities Steward (Receptionist) for breaks.
