Job summary

Velocity Truck Centres in Surrey, BC, is hiring a Shipper/Receiver - Driver to join our Surrey branch. The role focuses on shipping/receiving, inventory control, and truck parts handling, with opportunities for growth and internal training.

You will maintain warehouse organization, verify incoming shipments, and coordinate outgoing orders. A valid BC driver’s license and forklift experience are assets, with benefits including health coverage and RRSP options.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of shipping/receiving experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Self-starter in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent computer skills to maintain records, prepare orders, and post receipts.
• Ability to work physically, including heavy lifting and tools.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Forklift experience is an asset (training provided).
• Experience in Heavy Duty / Large Truck or automotive industry is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Shipping, receiving, documentation, and inventory management of products in the warehouse.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts against packing slips or PO.
• Label, sort, and store incoming parts.
• Pick and pack parts for internal departments, customers, and transfers.
• Prepare outgoing shipments with proper packaging, documentation, and carrier coordination.
• Maintain accurate shipment and inventory records in the system.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Keep shipping/receiving area clean and organized.
• Communicate with parts and other departments to ensure timely processing.
• Drive company vehicle to receive and deliver parts when required.

This role is responsible to maintain a clean and well-manicured warehouse and document inventory that both comes in and out of the branch.

Primary Job Functions

• Shipping, receiving, documentation, and inventory of products incoming and outgoing from the warehouse.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts shipments against packing slips or purchase orders.
• Accurately label, sort, and store incoming parts in designated locations.
• Pick and pack parts orders for internal departments, customers, and branch transfers.
• Prepare outgoing shipments, ensuring proper packaging, documentation, and carrier coordination.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory transactions in the system.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the shipping and receiving area.
• Communicate with the parts team and other departments to ensure timely processing of orders.
• Maintains the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition.
• Participating in inventory counts.
• Attend all training sessions to update technical knowledge.
• Drive company vehicle to receive and deliver parts when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in shipping / receiving.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed environment.
• Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail.
• Excellent Computer skills to maintain records, prepare orders, post receipts, and other computer work that may be required.
• Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift.
• Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean drivers abstract.
• Excellent communications skills both verbally and written.
• Forklift experience is an asset (training will be provided).
• Previous experience in the Heavy Duty / Large Truck industry or automotive industry is considered an asset.
