Job summary

Wajax Limited in Canada is seeking a Warehouse Associate to ensure safe flow of industrial goods in and within the branch or warehouse. You will receive, pack, and ship goods, stock shelves, and operate a forklift to move items efficiently and safely.

The role requires a High School education, a valid forklift license, a valid driver’s license, and 1–2 years of related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a commitment to keeping a clean, organized work area are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift license/certification is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured status.
  • 1–2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Receives goods into inventory and verifies contents; inputs data into tracking system.
  • Picks and packs goods for shipment according to packing slips.
  • Ships goods in line with organizational and customer requirements.
  • Maintains Bills of Lading and coordinates carriers for timely delivery.
  • Stock shelves using the designated system and forklift.
  • Files packing slips and prints service/production documents.
  • Completes a daily forklift log.
  • Keeps the warehouse clean and organized at all times.
  • Performs local pickup and delivery tasks as needed.
  • Operates forklift and other activities safely within the work area.

Job description

Responsible for the safe flow of industrial goods in and within the branch or warehouse. Ensures branches are supplied as necessary by shipping and receiving goods, checking for accuracy, and appropriately processing orders. Supports the warehouse by stocking shelves, performing housekeeping activities within the work area, and operating a forklift in support of the movement of goods

The Role
  • Receives goods into inventory, including unpacking and verifying contents against appropriate documents; ensures received goods are accurately input into the computer tracking system
  • Prepares packages to be sent out in accordance with information on the packing slip; picks and packs goods for shipment as per customer and branch orders.
  • Ensures goods are shipped in accordance with organizational best practices and customer requirements
  • Maintain Bills of Lading, book and arrange carriers for timely delivery of goods.
  • Stock shelves with received shipments, using the appropriate sorting/organization system and equipment, including forklifts
  • Files packing slips from suppliers and co-workers; prints service and production documents as required
  • Completes a daily forklift log
  • Ensures the warehouse is maintained in a clean and organized fashion at all times
  • Performs additional duties including local pickup and delivery tasks outside regular warehouse duties as required
  • Operates forklift and activities within the work area in a safe manner.
The Candidate
  • Education: High School; valid Forklift license/certification; valid driver' license and must be insurable
  • Work Experience: 1-2 years; previous experience in similar role
  • Knowledge: Competent in Microsoft Office.

Compensation

Base pay $23-$26 per hour. Pay may vary based on skills, expertise, and performance, and is a component of the total rewards package.
