Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking a warehouse associate to safely load and unload trucks, organize materials, and keep a clean, safe work area. The role involves moving finished goods and raw materials, using forklifts, and assisting with inventory control.

You will generate labels and SDS from WERCS, assist in shipments, respond to spills, and help ensure accurate paperwork for outbound loads in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 year experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Good communication and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Safely load and unload trucks, tankers, and trailers. Transport finished goods and raw materials throughout the facility using forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Generate and print labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) from the WERCS software system.

Support inventory management by assisting with material tracking and performing inventory counts.

Organize and retrieve raw materials, finished goods, and supplies from warehouse storage locations.

Respond promptly to spills following clean up procedures.

Prepare drums and bins for shipment.

Assist in investigating customer complaints.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through routine housekeeping tasks.

Inspect drums, bins, and containers for shipment.

Communicate shipment delays to Customer Care and coordinate timely resolution.

Schedule carrier pickups and confirm transportation arragements for outbound shipments.

Create BOL for shipments.

Confirm paperwork is complete for all shipments and correct when needed.

Load containerized and bulk raw materials to production vessels.

Draw off product into drums, pails and totes.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Internet software and Database software.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to carefully, and precisely manipulate samples, apparatus, and sensitive instruments. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50pounds, or no more than local or country regulations allow. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Position holder has good communication and prioritization skills. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work on different projects at the same time, follow instructions, and think analytically. Must be a team player who is result/customer oriented.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The associate must be able to safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
