Position Overview

The Shipper-Receiver is responsible for the accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, and handling of materials and goods within the warehouse. This position ensures the timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments while maintaining the warehouse in a clean, safe, and organized state. The role also involves coordination with delivery drivers and internal departments to support the smooth flow of inventory and customer orders.

Position Overview

The Shipper-Receiver is responsible for the accurate and efficient shipping, receiving, and handling of materials and goods within the warehouse. This position ensures the timely processing of incoming and outgoing shipments while maintaining the warehouse in a clean, safe, and organized state. The role also involves coordination with delivery drivers and internal departments to support the smooth flow of inventory and customer orders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments; verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Prepare and package outgoing goods accurately for shipment, ensuring appropriate labeling and documentation.
  • Conduct final inspections to confirm the condition and accuracy of goods before dispatch.
  • Load and unload trucks and trailers using manual or powered equipment (e.g., lift trucks, power walkies, pallet jacks, order pickers).
  • Ensure stock is placed in correct locations and maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse data systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and surrounding exterior areas (walkways, docks, parking).
  • Follow all safety protocols and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Communicate effectively with delivery drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities.
  • Comply with company SOPs, including Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) in customer-facing scenarios (e.g., reporting potential adverse drug reactions to the appropriate authority).
  • Take direction from the Operations Manager and perform additional related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Physically demanding role involving frequent lifting (including items over 50 lbs), standing, and moving for extended periods.
  • Exposure to fluctuating temperatures, noise, and time-sensitive logistics.
  • Requires sustained physical activity for up to 4–6 hours per shift.

Qualifications

Experience :

  • 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, shipping / receiving, or logistics environment, preferably with a national or regional supplier for commercial or industrial goods
  • Certification with powered material handling equipment (e.g., Raymond Reach, forklift) required.
  • Experience using ERP systems or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Familiarity with asset and inventory tracking tools, including barcode scanners and handheld devices.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Computer proficiency and comfort with digital workflows and reporting tools.

Education

  • High School (Grade 12) required (post-secondary education preferred)

Requirement

  • Acceptable criminal background check required
