Shipping & Receiving – Forklift
We have an opportunity for an experienced Shipper & Receiver/Forklift to join the operations team. The Shipper & Receiver/Forklift Operator is responsible for performing material handling, clean-up, and packaging and other elemental activities related to food processing. They operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other machinery to move items, and materials on and off trucks and loading docks. Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean. Open containers, sort, and catalog materials. Adheres and complies with all workplace and food safety regulations.

Afternoon 3pm – 11pm Monday – Friday
Night 11pm – 7am Monday – Friday
Shift premium for Afternoons, $0.75 per hour
Shift premium for Nights, $1.25 per hour

Functions & Responsibilities:
• Loading, and off-loading of trucks daily
• Remove finished goods from production floor and place into racking system and/or onto trailer for delivery
• Receive and record raw materials, ingredients, and packaging, machinery, and spare parts into the plant
• Ship finished product from the production floor to the storage
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with SOP’s and regulations
• Follow all Quality (BRC), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements
• Complete quality records
• Collecting and weighing waste from the production area
• Deliver accurate weekly finished product counts
• Prepare orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area based on the weekly shipping and receiving schedules
• Responsible for retrieval of stock, to assist in the line setup for current and upcoming production
• Follow all company safety procedures and policies including wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), using proper lifting techniques, and properly locking out equipment
• Operating a shrink wrapper as required
• Labeling of pallets
• Occasionally assisting on the Production line with boxing and palletizing as required
• Coordinate with Production Supervisor and Demand Planner to allow for overall alignment across the warehouse and office teams
What you bring:
• Minimum of 1 years of current Forklift experience in a Warehouse/Production environment
• Experience driving counterbalance, reach trucks and walkies
• Knowledge of Automated Shipping Systems / RF Technology
• Experience using SAP or other inventory management systems is a strong asset
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Strong time management, organizational skills, mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication skills including the ability to work independently or within a team environment
• Experience with food & beverage or consumer packaged goods industry highly preferred
• Ability to work in a rotating Days/Afternoons shift environment • Able to work overtime shifts as requested to support a growing operation
• Work in variable temperature, ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting – up to 50lbs
